ICAI heading towards writing steps to get back the black money , ICAI today said it will submit to the government, its suggestions on the ways to deal with the menace of black money and retrieving illegal money stashed in tax havens and overseas banks by the end of August.

President of ICAI said,"We (the Committee) have had our first meeting. Right now we are collecting information about Double Taxation Avoidance Treaty (DTAA), tax treaties, etc, on how they work. By August-end, we should be able to submit our report to the government,"
The issue of black money has become a major topic of debate in India. Recently, a group representing the Mauritius-linked global investors claimed that the island nation was cooperating in India's fight against black money and was fully clean and transparent' on this front.


The Supreme Court has appointed a Special Investigation Team for monitoring probe and steps being taken to bring back black money stashed in foreign banks, reports Economic Times.

Thousands of people are present at the venue to pay their final respects. A large number of people, including women, started arriving here for the cremation of 49-year-old Sarabjit who succumbed to his injuries in a hospital in Lahore on Thursday following a brutal attack in Kot Lakhpat Jail where he was lodged since 1990. Union minister of state for external affairs Preneet Kaur, an MP from Patiala, Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal, his deputy Sukhbir Badal and a number of leaders are expected to attend the last rites of Sarabjit. The government has announced a state funeral and also a three-day mourning as a mark of respect to Sarabjit, besides financial aid and government jobs for his family.
